Over the course of two projects funded by Justice Canada. Yoga Outreach first completed an environmental scan and comprehensive literature review. The goal of this project was to compile findings that would support future program development regarding using yoga in this arena. We then went on to develop, pilot, and evaluate a trauma-informed yoga program in conjunction with drug treatment programs for youth involved in the justice system in different sites throughout the Province of British Columbia.  The goal of this project was to improve the health outcomes of youth by assisting them in the development of their ability to self-regulate both emotionally and physically, and to master impulse control/relapse. The project also delivered and evaluated training to support staff at partner agencies in using yoga based practices in their work as well as for their own self-care.
